Freehand Drawing (2)

ART 2101

Description

This theoretical and practical course develops students’ freehand drawing skills through intensive studio practice and observational drawing. It emphasizes the accurate perception of forms, spatial relationships, structural lines, proportions, and aesthetic values, enabling students to translate visual observations into expressive artistic compositions. Students produce realistic drawings of a wide variety of subjects, including the human figure, botanical forms, still life compositions, geometric forms, architectural masses, landscapes, and urban environments representing both traditional and contemporary settings. The course also includes analytical studies of geometric and architectural compositions using a variety of drawing media, techniques, materials, and color applications to enhance technical proficiency, visual analysis, and artistic expression.
