Description
This theoretical course examines the history of European art and architecture from the emergence of Early Christian art in the fourth century CE through the Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance periods, extending to the beginning of the nineteenth century. The course explores the artistic, architectural, and cultural characteristics of each period, highlighting their historical contexts, aesthetic principles, and major achievements. It also examines the evolution of artistic styles and architectural movements and their lasting influence on the development of Western art and architecture.
