Principles of Engineering Drawing

ART 1101

Description

This theoretical and practical course introduces students to the fundamental principles and techniques of engineering drawing. It covers the use of traditional drafting instruments and materials, engineering line conventions, orthographic projection, and the representation of points, lines, and planes. Students learn to produce orthographic views, sections, elevations, and three-dimensional representations of geometric forms and objects using internationally recognized engineering drawing standards. The course also covers projection methods, horizontal, vertical, frontal, and side views, drawing scales, dimensioning techniques, and the construction and subdivision of regular polygons and geometric curves. Through practical exercises, students develop the technical drawing skills required for architectural and artistic design applications.
