The study in the College of Information and Communications Engineering takes an average of 5 years.
- Communications and Information Engineering: During which the student studies 167 credit hours.
- Software Engineering: During which the student studies 168 credit hours.
- Computer and Digital Systems Engineering: During which the student studies 169 credit hours
Study and Guidance Plan
The objectives of the study plan are summarized as follows:
1. Providing the student with the opportunity to obtain sufficient and strong scientific foundations through a well-studied and rigorous set of basic science courses.
2. Obtaining the appropriate and sufficient dose of academic qualification in the field of specialization through the theoretical and practical parts of each course, which achieves academic solidity and broad scientific horizons for the graduate.
3. Accomplishing the sufficient amount of applications and training that enable the acquisition of the necessary practical experience and possession of the modern information technologies necessary to enter the labor market with distinctive efficiency.
4. Obtaining the necessary scientific foundations through the optimal selection of course books that are compatible with the content of the plan and preparing to pursue postgraduate studies and scientific research.
Objectives
This academic activity of the college seeks to achieve the following key points::
1. The provision of university study that allows the introduction of the student to the modern methods of the implementation of scientific research to help him in high academic achievement for the implementation of specialty graduate studies and encourage him to do so.
2. Pushing the student to the path of creativity and scientific challenge through serious participation in all scientific competitions. It also provides him with hobby interest in modern applications like Robotics, for example by encouraging students to establish competent scientific clubs that lead to the implementation of advanced projects in these modern disciplines and achieve knowledge exchange among students.
3. Helping students integrate with the community by clarifying the concepts of the role of the academic studies carried out on the one hand and the role of the necessary practical applications to link with the practice to contribute to the cultural renaissance of the community on the other hand.
4. Providing the college student with the college requirements to study the specialties that have an administrative, financial and human linking as administration and finance, psychology, communication skills, physical education and foreign languages, in addition to recognizing the important role of the economy in all aspects of the cultural structure of communities.
Basically, Faculty of Informatics and Communications Engineering was founded in Yarmouk University to be the right option on the trail through the proper scientific rehabilitation and the excellent reality for graduates of this college in all businesses that deal with the accelerated evolution of information technology that go with modern changes in all sectors.

One of the main objectives of the Faculty of Informatics and Communications Engineering at Yarmouk University is to get a distinguished graduate in this vital area which is witnessing a lot of development in its techniques, which leads us strongly to look at the study plan that is flexible and allows the rehabilitation of a graduate on a scientific level and high technology capable of absorbing renewable communication technology and informatics.

I promise to keep your Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications the leading and outstanding faculty as you know it. Faculty of Informatics and Communications Engineering at Yarmouk University, and after studying the basic sciences such as mathematics, physics, materials base and engineering science, electronic information, and the basics of science management and accounting, allows the students to specialize in four fields of specialization as follows: (1) Software Engineering; dealing with the fundamentals of informatics, and its most important and latest languages. (2) Communications and Information Engineering; and it is about studying the design, analysis and simulation of telecommunications systems, mobile, and networks.
(3)Computers Engineering and digital systems; and it is involved in the design, analysis and simulation of computers and digital systems.
(4)Information Systems Engineering; and it is involved in the design and development of specialized software like those of banks, companies, and institutions Our College like other colleges, at Yarmouk University, and the evolving global universities uses the system of credit hours, and the total number reaches an average of 168 hours, including 15 hours of college requirements, and 27-hour college requirements, and 126 hours of specialized or department requirements.
A student Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications can accomplish these credit hours by the Ministry of Higher Education during the three and a half years at a minimum, or five years, on average, or a maximum of eight years.

Our college is proud of its specialist and outstanding teaching staff, and the presidency of the university promises to maintain that through its enhanced curricula and updated books and references which are adopted by the international universities. Our faculty is also proud of its basic and specialized advanced laboratories and project laboratories, whose specialty communications laboratories have reached the number of about twenty laboratories and the same for the specialty of the software. We are currently studying and evaluating them to modernize, update and complete texts of their experiences, and develop solutions to these experiences in the practical reach of their teachers . The texts of these experiments will be in the reach of your hands at the beginning of each semester.
All of these laboratories go along with the theoretical programs which are designed professionally, and we promise you that there is no room to supervise and control the laboratories except qualified, experienced and distinguished teachers,.
In our college there is a number of clubs, which aim to develop and refine the skills of students affiliated to it, like the club robotics, and the club of communications and electronics.
