Dr. Imad Sabouni

Born in 1964, Imad Sabouni earned an engineering degree in Telecommunications from ENST-Br, France in 1987 and a doctorate from INP-G, France in 1992.

Sabouni held high-ranking government positions in Syria, serving as Minister of Communications and Technology (2008–2014) and Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Commission (2016–2021).

Sabouni’s academic career includes professorships at HIAST, Damascus University, IUST, and YPU. Additionally, he was member of the SVU’s Board of Trustees (2017-2025), and the Board of Commissioners of the Syrian Accreditation Commission in Higher Education (2017-2025).

Sabouni is a member of the Arabic Academy of Damascus since 2022.
