Description
This course covers fundamental information regarding vernacular architecture—particularly historical data—to enable the analysis and interpretation of the relationship between buildings and their present and historical contexts, with a specific focus on climatic factors. It also outlines the essentials of preserving archaeological and historical buildings, placing special emphasis on understanding key architectural conservation values: aesthetic, historical, architectural, economic, and ensemble values. Collectively, these values underscore the importance of preserving such buildings and the specific techniques required to do so.
